Studio Gallery Now Open for the 2024/2025 Season!

Pumphouse Studio Gallery is open for the new 2024/2025 season by appointment!  I'd love to have you visit and see my studio and also my paintings, many of which decorate the studio and feature southwest landscapes.  You can see (and purchase!) many of the paintings I made at Grand Canyon and Zion National Parks, Sedona, Arizona, as well as more local scenery.  I've painted all over the Southwest--New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Colorado--as well as California.

Available at Pumphouse Studio Gallery

Pumphouse is located in western New Mexico, about two hours from Albuquerque, one hour from Gallup, and 20 minutes from Zuni.  For an appointment, contact me via e-mail at mchesleyjohnson@gmail.com or (505) 490-6139

Besides visiting my studio, you can also enjoy visiting other local sites along the "Ancient Way," including El Morro and El Malpais National Monuments; El Calderon, an extinct volcano; Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary; the Old School Gallery, and lots more.

As a reminder, Pumphouse is also "base camp" for my one-on-one, private painting intensive workshops.  Completely customized to the individual, the workshop allows you to paint with me side-by-side and to get valuable feedback.  We'll also work together on projects to help you improve your skills.   You can find out more information about this unique program, as well as about my all-level Sedona (Arizona) at www.PaintTheSouthwest.com.

We will be back in the fall, starting in late October for the 10th Sedona Plein Air Festival.  If you'd like to visit our Sedona, AZ area studio gallery, please let us know!  We'd love to show you around the studio and gallery.  E-mail is the best way to contact me at mcj.painter@gmail.com.  If I am out in the field painting, Trina can show you my paintings and the studio by prior appointment.

Follow my experience in the Grand Canyon at the Celebration of Art in September 2014 by following my daily blog postings:  September 2014 Plein Air Painter's Blog Postings.  Also, please consider joining me in Sedona this year and look at the schedule for Paint Sedona for the Fall and Winter of 2015.

It is also the beginning of our 10th season at Friar's Bay Studio Gallery if your travels take you in that direction next summer. If you'd like to visit there, please let us know!  We have regular hours in July and August and otherwise operate by appointment there...

Taking Reservations for Paint Sedona Workshops

The workshop schedule is available at:  http://paintsedona.com/sched.html  If you have a particular subject you want to study such as: large format plein air painting, composition, design, color, Verde Valley explorations, plein air to studio, or whatever tickles your fancy, and you are the first to sign up for a particular week, the subject you choose can be the focus of the 4 day workshop.  It is not too early to think about Fall or Winter workshops!
