Taking Reservations for Paint Sedona Now Beginning October 27, 2015

We are taking reservations for our Paint Sedona Plein Air Painting Workshops.  The program begins October 27th and is offered until April 15, 2016.  Pick you week and if you are the first to sign up you can request a special subject or medium workshop.  $300 per week, 4 students maximum, customizable.

Opened for the Plein Air Painting Season Now until Mid-April!

We will be back in the fall, starting in late October for the 10th Sedona Plein Air Festival.  If you'd like to visit our Sedona, AZ area studio gallery, please let us know!  We'd love to show you around the studio and gallery.  E-mail is the best way to contact me at mcj.painter@gmail.com.  If I am out in the field painting, Trina can show you my paintings and the studio by prior appointment.

I admit, I have not posted finished works to my Pumphouse Studio Blog as much as I had hoped to this winter.  Part of the problem has to do with having to post work in a variety of places - my Facebook studio page, A Plein Air Painter's Blog, Friar's Bay Studio Gallery Blog, Pumphouse Studio Gallery Blog and, yes, my website, www.MichaelChesleyJohnson.com.  That's a lot of places to post to, which also makes inventory tracking cumbersome.

So, I'm going to try to make life easier for me, and also for patrons who are trying to find my work online.  I will be making some changes in the future about how I present my work online.

With that in mind, as my season here in Arizona draws to a close, if you would like to see all the finished studio work, please visit the Paintings page of my website.  There you can see not just my Southwestern work but also work from Downeast Maine, the Canadian Maritimes and elsewhere, both available and a selection of sold pieces.  We are now closed in Arizona and slowly making our way back to Campobello Island, NB.  Join me on the way in a plein air workshop.  I have 3 scheduled in early May in the midwest:   Batavia, Illinois, Toledo, Ohio, and Valparaiso, Indiana

Three Pieces for the Sedona Area Guild of Artists Exhibition

I will have three pieces in the upcoming SAGA show (Sedona Area Guild of Artists.)  The show runs from November 15 to December 5, with an opening reception on Saturday, November 16, from 5-8 pm:

At the Old Marketplace: 1370 West SR 89A in Sedona, Arizona

Show will be open Tuesday-Thursday from 12-5 pm and on Friday and Saturday from 12-8 pm. (Closed on Mondays and Thanksgiving Day.)

Taking Reservations for Paint Sedona Workshops

The workshop schedule is available at:  http://paintsedona.com/sched.html  If you have a particular subject you want to study such as: large format plein air painting, composition, design, color, Verde Valley explorations, plein air to studio, or whatever tickles your fancy, and you are the first to sign up for a particular week, the subject you choose can be the focus of the 4 day workshop.  It is not too early to think about Fall or Winter workshops!

Because of my travels, the paintings featured in the Pumphouse Studio Gallery blog will not be available again until November 1, 2013.  But, starting June 1, paintings of Downeast Maine and the Canadian Maritimes will be available in the Friar's Bay Studio Gallery blog.
